St. Thomas replies by saying that there was wonder in Christ as
regards His experimental knowledge, but not as regards His divine
knowledge, His beatific knowledge, and His infused knowledge. The
reason is that wonder concerns the attention given by the faculties of
the soul to what is new and unwonted, and this wonder was in Christ as
regards only His experimental knowledge. Thus, "Jesus hearing the
words of the centurion, marveled."[ |
